To send your transactional emails from your own domain you will need to first verify it! Here is how you can do that:

🏡 How to verify your domain/DNS (Domain Name System) 🏡

You should already have an email from us called 'Your DNS settings' (if you cannot find this email, or you needed to verify a different domain with Peptalkr please contact us!).

In this email, you will see all the information needed to start using your own domain name with Peptalkr. Here's a step-by-step guide:

1 - You will need to locate where your domain name is registered AND where your DNS is hosted. For this example, our domain is with GoDaddy.

📝 Note: If your website is hosted somewhere different to your domain name it might mean you will need to add this DNS record in your website hosting account and not in your domain hosting account.

2 - Open up DNS management settings for the new domain. Here you need to make sure that the name servers (NS) are pointing to the Domain Registrar's default nameservers (e.g GoDaddy's nameservers).

👉🏻 If they are pointing to another location such as 'Cloudways' or a different website host (e.g Siteground), you will need to go there to edit your DNS records instead.

3 - Click 'Add'. Now there will be sections for you to add your information from the email we have sent you. The section you will be copying from your email will look something like this but with your specific information that is personalised to you loctaed in the DNS email we sent you when you signed up:

Required DNS:

TXT Name: *emailed to you*
TXT Value: *emailed to you*

👇🏻 When you add a new DNS record there are up to four areas to fill in 👇🏻

Type: You will need to select TXT from the drop-down menu

Name: You will copy the TXT Name eg. cm._domainkey.----------.com. in full and paste it in.

Value: You will copy the TXT Value text in full from your email and paste it into this section.

TTL: You can select '1/2 Hour' from the drop-down box

Then you will need to select 'Add record' or 'Save Record'. The changes may take up to 48 hours.

4 - 🚨 ESSENTIAL STEP: In the meantime, you need to open up a conversation with us and tell us you have done all of this. We need to verify on our end too otherwise it won't show up in the drop-down box for you to select.
