This article will show you how to make the most of building your emails for Campaigns (one off marketing blasts) and Automated Journeys (multistep marketing journeys).
During your Campaign or Automated Journey set-up, you will find yourself clicking on the Design email (Campaigns) or Add email content (Automated Journeys) button. This will take you to the email builder. Here you can choose one of the Peptalkr's supplied templates, one of your recent email designs or any of the other 50+ fully customisable layouts.

Choosing your Campaign or Automated Journey template
When choosing your template for your Campaign or Automated Journey, you have the option of selecting one of the many fully customisable templates.
π‘ Keep in mind if you choose one of the Peptalkr templates (found in My Templates), these are designed to be used for transactional (smart) emails and not campaigns or journey emails. Therefore, if you do decide to use one for an Automation or Campaign, you need to update the [personalisation] variables as these variables differ for transactional emails. Read more about the personalisation you'll need to use here: ππ» Using personalisation in Automated Journeys and Campaigns.
How do I know if I am choosing a template designed for transactional emails?
As you can see in this image, the transactional emails are all labelled:

Here is a video on choosing the right template for your needs:
π Add or remove Text π
All existing text can be edited, moved and removed. To do this, you just click on the sections you want to be changed, and you will see all the text options appear.
To remove any unwanted sections of text, click on the text, and you will see a red bin icon. You can click on that and then confirm by selecting 'Delete'.
You can use personalisation in your campaign or automated journey email. Go to this article to see how to add those ππ» Using personalisation in Automated Journeys and Campaigns
π¨ IMPORTANT NOTE: When using the Peptalkr templates, the personalisation included is for transactional (smart) emails only. You will need to change it to the Campaign and Automated Journey specific personalisation variables from the Using personalisation in Automated Journeys and Campaigns article. π¨
In this video, I will show you how to add, move and edit the text in the template:
πΌ Add or remove an Image, logo or section/background πΌ
You can add or remove any image you like to your template, as shown in this video here:
Add and edit your logo:
NOTE: You can add a link to these images so that when they are clicked on, they will take the user to a URL. Click on the image and then paste in the URL in the image settings.
Edit sections or backgrounds:

πͺ Add or remove a Spacer πͺ
A spacer is used to seperate sections in your template. Sometimes you need to use spacers to even out areas of your template. Here is how you can add and edit a spacer:
βΌ Add or remove a Divider βΌ
You can use a divider to section off areas of your email. You would do this to make a clear and defined line between sections of your template. For example. You might want to section off an area of text relating to their appointment from an area of the template with some information about your business. You can add the divider the same way you would a spacer.
β― Add or remove a Button β―
The button feature is really handy when you want to add a link and have it neatly inserted as a button. You can use this button to direct the patient to your website, booking link, Peptalkr forms or URL. In this video example, I will show you how to add the button link to a calendar booking link:
πΉ Add or remove a Video πΉ
You can add a video from YouTube or Vimeo to your email template. Here's how:
Note: If you have your own video content to add, you will need to upload it to either YouTube or Vimeo to copy the URL and paste it into the email.
π± Add or remove Social links π±
Adding your social links to your email template is a great way to get people engaged with your pages. In this video, you can see how to add different links and to edit who the buttons look in the email:
πΎ Edit your footer and business information πΎ
It is a good idea to edit and add your business information at the bottom of the email template, so the patient can easily reference and find you online. You can add your logo as well as remove and add any text here.
You cannot remove or edit the Unsubscribe link from your Campaign or Automated Journey email templates. Due to the marketing nature of Campaigns and Automated Journeys, the unsubscribe button needs to be included so that recipients can opt out of marketing emails in the future.
π§ͺ Send test, Preview and Save & next π§ͺ
Send test - When you select Send test you can type in the email you would like the test sent to. You will see how it will look in the recipient's inbox. However, you will not see how the personalisation works because it is not linked to anyone's Cliniko profile or sign-up form information.
Note: If it does not come to your main inbox, check your spam or junk folder. It may end up here because it is sent from a generic test domain.
Preview - If you click Preview you will see how it looks on a desktop (left) and on a mobile phone (right). You can scroll through to make sure you are happy with how it looks.
β
Save & next - When you are happy with how it all looks, you can select Save & next and you will be taken back to your Campaign or Journey settings.
