This article will show you how to make the most of building your email for transactional (smart) emails.

During your transactional email set-up, you will find yourself and the Build or Create your email section. Here you can choose one of the Peptalkr templates or from the other 50+ fully customisable layouts.

Click on the element you want to edit for instructions:

โœ‰๏ธ Creating your new transactional (smart) email โœ‰๏ธ

STEP 1: From your Peptalkr homepage you will want to click Send Email.

STEP 2: On this page, you will see a tab called 'Transactional' at the top of the screen. Click on that.

STEP 3: Here you will want to click on the green button in the top right that says 'Create an email'.

STEP 4:

  • Name this email - You will want to describe what this email is all about. This name will be what you see in your email reports and admin areas. No patient will see this name.

  • Write a subject line - The subject line is what the recipient will see in their email inbox. You will want to make this as appealing as possible and for the patient to understand what is inside. You can use personalisation variables here to make it more personal. For more about the email variables, you can click on the highlighted email variables. Or you can read more about them in our help centre with these articles:

  • Who is it from? - In the first box you will put in who the email is coming from. in the second box, you will enter the part of the email before the @ symbol. From the drop-down menu, you will select your domain. If you have not verified your domain it will not appear here. For more information on how to verify your domain check out these articles:

In the meantime, you can use the @peptalkr.app domain and use a different reply-to address (here you will insert your email).

โ€‹๐Ÿ’ฅUsing the peptalkr domain may mean that your emails could go into the recipient's junk folder as it is a widely used domain, so it is best to use your own domain.๐Ÿ’ฅ

  • Add recipients to a list - Here you will want to select 'Don't add to a list'.

  • Content - Click 'Build your email'.

๐Ÿ“ Add or remove Text ๐Ÿ“

All existing text can be edited, moved and removed. To do this you just click on the sections you want to be changed and you will see all the text options appear.

To remove any unwanted sections of text click on the text and you will see a red bin icon. You can click on that and then confirm by selecting 'Delete'.

You can use personalisation in your transactional (smart) email. Go to this article to see how to add those ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Using personalisation in Transactional emails

In this video, I will show you how to add and edit another section of text:

๐Ÿ–ผ Add or remove an Image ๐Ÿ–ผ

You can add or remove any image you like to your template as shown in this video here:

NOTE: You can add a link to these images so that when they a clicked on they will take the user to a URL.

๐Ÿช Add or remove a Spacer ๐Ÿช

A spacer is used to seperate sections in your template. Sometimes you need to use spacers to even out areas of your template. Here is how you can add and edit a spacer:

โŽผ Add or remove a Divider โŽผ

You can use a divider to section off areas of your email. You would do this to make a clear and defined line between sections of your template. For example. You might want to section off an area of text relating to their appointment from an area of the template with some information about your business. You can add the divider the same way you would a spacer.

โฏ Add or remove a Button โฏ

The button feature is really handy when you want to add a link and have it neatly inserted as a button. You can use this button to direct the patient to your website, booking link, Peptalkr forms or URL. In this video example, I will show you how to add the button link for your Peptalkr intake form:

๐Ÿ“น Add or remove a Video ๐Ÿ“น

You can add a video from YouTube or Vimeo to your email template. Here's how:

Note: If you have your own video content to add, you will need to upload it to either YouTube or Vimeo to copy the URL and paste it into the email.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Add or remove Social links๐Ÿ“ฑ

Adding your social links to your email template is a great way to get people engaged with your pages. In this video, you can see how to add different links and to edit who the buttons look in the email:

๐Ÿพ Edit your footer and business information ๐Ÿพ

It is a good idea to edit and add your business information at the bottom of the email template so the patient can easily reference and find you online. You can add your logo as well as remove and add any text here.

๐Ÿงช Send test, Preview and Save & next ๐Ÿงช

Send test - When you select Send test you can type in the email you would like the test sent to. You will see how it will look in the recipient's inbox. However, you will not see how the personalisation works because it is not linked to anyone's Cliniko profile or sign-up form information.

Note: If it does not come to your main inbox, check your spam or junk folder. It may end up here because it is sent from a generic test domain.

Preview - If you click Preview you will see how it looks on a desktop (left) and on a mobile phone (right). You can scroll through to make sure you are happy with how it looks.
โ€‹

Save & next - When you are happy with how it all looks you can select Save & next and you will be taken back to your Campaign or Journey settings.
