I am seeing an error or white screen when trying to access Peptalkr
Updated over a week ago

Trying to log in to Peptalkr or navigate to pages but are seeing a loading error, white screen or other authentication error message? This will help!

Why does this happen?

Browsers (like Chrome) cache files on websites to help you load them faster. When these files are updated on our servers (such as when we deploy updates), the browser might still use the cached (and now outdated) versions. If these cached files are incompatible with the new versions - it can result in a blank screen or error. To fix it, your cache will need to be cleared.

How to fix the blank white screen

You'll need to clear your local browser cache. This requires a 'hard refresh'. Follow the steps below based on the browser you use:

Chrome

  1. On your computer, open Chrome

  2. At the top right, click More Clear browsing data.

  3. Choose a time range - we recommend All time.

  4. Check the boxes for Cached images and files (everything else can be unchecked)

  5. Click Clear data.

Firefox

  1. In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click Firefox and then select Preferences or Settings, depending on your macOS/Windows version.

  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel.

  3. In the Cookies and Site Data section, click Clear Data….

  4. Remove the check mark in front of Cookies and Site Data.

  5. With Cached Web Content check marked, click the Clear button.

  6. Close the Settings page. Any changes you've made will automatically be saved.

Safari

  1. Click on Safari in the menu at the top of the screen.

  2. Click on Settings or Preferences (depending on the version of macOS you are running).

  3. Go to the Privacy tab.

  4. Click on Manage Website Data…

  5. Search for Peptalkr and click all results

  6. Choose Remove All or select websites individually to remove.

Didn't work?

  1. Ensure you have updated your browser to the latest version - then try again.

  2. Repeat the steps but also clear your cookies - then try again.

  3. Try opening an Incognito or Private Browsing window - then try again

A note on browsers

We recommend you use the latest version of Google Chrome or Firefox to access Peptalkr - these are the most reliable browsers for use with a modern web application.

We do not recommend Internet Explorer.
