Wondering what happens when you archive a patient in Cliniko?
When a patient is archived in Cliniko, they are automatically archived in Peptalkr as well. This integration ensures that your patient records stay in sync across both systems.
The bottom line: Archived patients stop receiving ALL emails from Peptalkr—both marketing and transactional.
What archiving a patient does:
They're removed from your marketing list
Archived patients won't receive marketing emails or be included in any campaign sends. They stop receiving transactional emails
This means NO automated messages—no appointment confirmations, reminders, follow-ups, or any other time-sensitive communications.Unarchiving reactivates everything
If you unarchive the patient in Cliniko, they're automatically reactivated in Peptalkr and will start receiving emails again based on your settings.
Before you archive: Important considerations
⚠️ Archiving for temporary reasons?
If you're archiving patients temporarily (like for long-term cancellations or extended absences), remember they won't receive ANY automated or marketing emails until you unarchive them.
If you want to pause SOME communications but not ALL, don't archive the patient. Instead, use a medical alert to exclude them from specific emails or SMS in a more controlled way.
For example:
Keep them on your list so they still get appointment reminders
Use a medical alert like "No Marketing" to exclude them from promotional campaigns
You maintain full control over what they receive
This gives you flexibility without completely cutting off communication.
When should you archive vs. use medical alerts?
Use archiving when: | Use medical alerts when: |
The patient has permanently left your practice | The patient is temporarily inactive but may return |
You need to completely remove them from all communications | You want to pause marketing but keep sending reminders |
They've requested to be removed from everything | You need granular control over specific campaigns |
The patient record is no longer active | The patient is still active but has specific preferences |
