All patients with an email address in Cliniko are automatically added to your email database. They are given an opportunity to opt out when they receive their first non-transactional email from you.

We do this in accordance with the Spam Act 2003 (Spam Act) as inferred consent.

Please note Cliniko has recently (March 2020) introduced an email opt-in preference into the profile settings for a patient, however, this is yet to be fully developed by Cliniko so that we can integrate it with our platform. We will ensure that whatever preference is marked here will be honoured in our Platform as soon as that data becomes available in the Cliniko API. For now, all email unsubscribes must be managed by the Patient by using the Unsubscribe button in the emails that are sent to them.
