Integrating Peptalkr intake forms with Cliniko's built in email and SMS templates offers a streamlined process for users who wish to continue using Cliniko's built in email reminders and confirmations.
๐ง Email reminders or confirmations
If you already have a new patient confirmation/reminder template in Cliniko, and want to include your Peptalkr form URL in your existing template follow these steps.
1. Copy the Form URL from your Peptalkr account
Start by logging into your Peptalkr account.
Navigate to the Forms tab and locate the specific intake form you wish to use.
Press the copy link for Peptalkr button to copy the formโs URL to your clipboard. You can then paste it into a text file - which should look something like this:
https://peptalkr.typeform.com/to/example#a=[appid]&name=[patientfirstname]
2. Edit the Form URL to be compatible with Cliniko's templates
Next, modify the copied URL for use in Clinikoโs templates:
Replace
[appid]
with{{Patient.IdentificationNumber}}
Replace
[patientfirstname]
with{{Patient.FirstName}}
After editing, your URL will look something like this:
https://peptalkr.typeform.com/to/example#a={{Patient.IdentificationNumber}}&name={{Patient.FirstName}}
Why do I have to do this?
Cliniko's variables are different to Peptalkr's. While ours are in [brackets], theirs are in {{curly.braces}} and the terminology is slightly different. It's important to update these so we can still identify the patient filling in the form.
Remember, you can always use Peptalkr to send your intake forms to save yourself the hassle! More on that here.
3. Edit your Cliniko reminder or confirmation template and insert the edited URL
Cliniko's instructions for editing these templates are here if you need them:
In your Cliniko account, head over to the settings your Cliniko appointment reminders or confirmations.
For example, here's where you'd edit your reminders:
Then open your new patient reminder template(s), for example:
To insert the form URL into the template:
Write some text about the intake form if you haven't already. Then add some link text for the form - such as 'Complete the form now'
Highlight that text and use the hyperlink button to link it to your edited Peptalkr form URL:
4. Test the link
Before finalising, itโs important to test the link:
At the bottom of the Cliniko template editing screen, click on 'View Sample.'
โHover your mouse over the hyperlinked text:
Now look at the link destination preview in the bottom left corner of your browser screen and ensure there is a dummy name and patient ID:
See the 0000001 and the Jane? Awesome, it's working.
Now right click the link i the preview and press Copy link address, then paste this into a new tab - ensure it goes to your Peptalkr form.
5. Save your changes
All good? Great! Press the 'Update reminder template' button to save your changes.
Note: Cliniko sometimes shows the text/URL you've inserted as funky-looking in the editor. Don't worry - just press the 'View sample' link to ensure it's fine for your recipients.
โ
โFunky looking in editor:
Fine in the sample:
As long as the sample looks good, all is ok! If the sample looks funky, repeat the steps again. This is a Cliniko bug.
