ℹ️ Who this tutorial is for
If you've read our article about custom lists and now you want to allow subscribers to sign up to your list on your website or a landing page, this tutorial walks you through it.
Custom lists allow you create audiences separate to your automatic Cliniko Patients list. Great for things like:
Website subscribers
Social media leads
Advertising leads
Anything else you want!
Once you have a custom list, you can import subscribers into it, or you can collect sign ups automatically using a sign up form.
Let's walk you through how to connect a sign up form for your custom list!
Please note: Sign up forms are not to be used with your automatic Patients list. The patients list is automatically synced with Cliniko, and we do not recommend confusing things by adding people to it outside of the automated sync.
Types of sign up forms
Peptalkr has three methods of creating a sign up form:
A signup page (landing page hosted on Peptalkr)
An embedded form (which you can paste into a page on your own website)
A popup (which will appear on your website)
Start by choosing the method that best suits your needs by looking at the table below:
Name | Description | Good for |
Create a signup page | A simple landing page, hosted on Peptalkr which can be accessed by a link. |
|
Embedded form | Generates some HTML code that you can copy-paste onto your website. |
|
Create pop-up for your site | Generates a code snippet you can paste onto your website which launches a popup with the Peptalkr sign up form. |
|
*Methods 2 and 3 will require some website knowledge. Forward to your web developer if you're not sure what to do.
Steps to create your signup form
Go to the email manager and click Lists & subscribers in the top menu
Click on the name of your custom list (create one if you haven't yet)
Click Signup forms in the left hand menu
Now you'll be presented with the 3 methods. Click your method of choice and follow the steps.
Method 1️⃣: Create a signup page
Signup pages are standalone pages with their own unique URL, designed to help you grow your Peptalkr mailing lists. They don’t require any hosting on your end—Peptalkr takes care of that. You can share your signup page via social media, on your website, or even add the link to your email signature.
Method 2️⃣: Create an embedded form
If you would like to integrate a Peptalkr custom list into your website, so that website visitors can sign up to a custom list instantly from a landing page or popup on your website, this tutorial is for you.
Method 3️⃣: Popup form
You can add a pop-up form to your website to encourage visitors to join your mailing list. This is a great way to capture attention the moment someone lands on your site.
🎉 Woohoo, you can now share your list and watch the signups roll in automatically. From here, you might want to create a welcome automated journey that triggers 'On subscription' to your list.
Use a QR code with your sign up form
Want people to be able to sign up to your list using a QR code?

Connecting to an external form builder
If you have a WordPress website - you may already be using a form builder plugin on your website for lead generation pages or contact forms.
Some WordPress form builders are compatible with Peptalkr lists.
If you want to connect Peptalkr to either of these plugins, please reach out to us - as we will facilitate the process to ensure your data is kept safe and secure.
To connect your list to a plugin, you're going to need a Peptalkr API key. Please contact us for your key. We keep these private to ensure your account is secure but can share them with you by request.
