If you're embedding a HTML sign up form for a custom list onto your website, subscribers will be taken to a default success page. To replace it with your own custom thank you page - keep reading.

Before you do this, ensure you have completed the following three steps:

  1. Created a custom list (e.g. for an eBook or Newsletter)

  2. Created sign up form using the Paste code onto your website method

  3. Embedded that sign up form onto your website

Now we can move ahead with creating a custom thank you page.

The default thank you page

By default, those who subscribe to your custom list will be redirected to a default thank you page that looks like this:

If you want to customise how this looks, or use Google Analytics to track visits to your success page - you'll need to create your own.

Create your own thank you page

This page will need to be created on your website. Depending on what website builder you use (WordPress, Wix, Squarespace etc.) the steps will vary.

If you have a web developer - you can ask them.

If you're tacklikng it yourself, you'll need to:

  1. Create a new page on your website - name it something logical such as 'Nutrition eBook Thank You Page'

  2. Design your page in any way you like - but ensure you add a relevant thank you message such as "Thanks for signing up! We've emailed you your eBook"

  3. Publish your Thank You page

It's a good idea to ensure this page is not crawlable by Search Engines such as a Google - set it's index status to 'noindex' which can often be done in the page settings or your SEO plugin (such as Yoast or Rank Math) settings for that page.

Set the page as your success screen

Now we need o assign this page as the success screen for your custom list.

  1. In Peptalkr, head to the Send Email tab.

  2. Go to Lists & Subscribers

  3. Click on the Custom List you created

  4. On the left hand side of the screen, click Settings

  5. Look for Subscription success page and click Edit

  6. Paste in the URL for your custom success page and click Save Changes

Now, test your Embedded sign up form on your website and ensure you are taken to the correct page πŸŽ‰

Next you might like to Automate a Welcome email, or the email containing a button to download your eBook. Head here to learn how.
