In this article, we will show you how to segment your patients into which business they have visited. This is great if you have multiple businesses or locations and only patients who attend one or the other need this campaign or journey.

πŸ₯’ How to create segments based on business visited πŸ₯’

Step 1: Go to 'Send Email'

Step 2: Click 'Lists & Subscribers' along the top of the page

Step 3: Click on 'Patients'.

IMPORTANT: You may be tempted to press 'Create a list' before selecting 'Patients' however, we are here to create a segment within your patient list so we will be doing that.

Step 4: Select 'Segments'. You will notice we already have some segments set up for you, have a look through those to see how you can utilise those in the future.

Step 5: Click 'Create a new segment'.

  • Here you will see a drop-down menu, and you will select 'Businesses visited'. Another drop-down menu will appear, and you can select 'matches exactly' and then in the text box, you can type in the business name that applies.

For example, you might type in 'North Sydney Osteopathy'. This will only add those who have attended your North Sydney Osteopathy location in their Cliniko profile to the segment.

πŸ“ NOTE: When selecting 'matches exactly' you need to make sure you have the exact spelling a grammar used in Cliniko. A good idea would be to copy and paste it directly to avoid any mistakes.

πŸ”₯ TIP - You can also decide here whether to use 'Last business visited' or 'Next business visited'!

  • Name your segment. Be clear with the segment name, such as 'North Sydney Osteopathy patients'.

  • Save and preview

You will then see a list of all of your patients that have now been added to that segment. This is now saved and can be used when creating a campaign or journey.

β€‹πŸ’‘ TIP: You can also create segments for patients who have been to multiple locations. For example, if you would like to segment patients who have been to 'North Sydney Osteopathy' AND 'Hill End Osteopathy' locations in their profile, this is how you can do it:

Follow steps 1-4.

Step 5: Click 'Create a new segment'.

  • From the drop-down menu and you will select 'businesses visited'. Another drop-down menu will appear, and you can select 'matches exactly' and then in the text box, you can type in the first location for this segment. (for this example it is 'North Sydney Osteopathy')

  • Click 'AND'

  • Select 'Businesses attended' and 'matches exactly' from the drop-down boxes and then in the text box, you can type in the second type of medical alert for this segment. (for this example it is 'Hill End Osteopathy')

  • Name your segment. Be clear with the segment name, such as 'North Sydney Osteopathy AND Hill End Osteopathy patients'.

  • Save and preview.

You will then see a list of patients who have been to both 'North Sydney Osteopathy' and 'Hill End Osteopathy' businesses.
