Tags are a useful tool to organise and sort your draft and sent email campaigns. By applying one or more tags to a campaign, you can categorise your emails into multiple groups, for example, campaign type or subscriber segment.

Before you start

To view campaign tags, navigate to the Campaigns page.

Adding or removing a tag

To add one or more new tags to an individual campaign:

  1. Hover below the campaign name and click Add Tag.

  2. Tick the corresponding box to apply an existing tag or type to create a new one.

  3. Click Apply to save changes.

To remove an individual tag select x on the right side of the tag.

Adding multiple tags to a single campaign

To add a tag to multiple campaigns:

  1. Hover to the left of the campaign name and tick all relevant campaigns.

  2. Click Tag on the action menu.

  3. Tick to apply an existing tag or type to create a new one. Click Apply once you’re finished making changes.

To remove a tag from multiple campaigns:

  1. Hover to the left of the campaign name and tick all relevant campaigns.

  2. Click Tag on the action menu.

  3. Uncheck the relevant tag from the list of applied tags. Click Apply once you’re finished making changes.

Editing and deleting tags

To edit a tag name or delete a tag:

  1. Click Manage tags on the left-hand menu.

  2. Hover over a tag and select Edit or Delete.

The number next to each tag name tells you how many campaigns have that tag applied.

Searching and filtering for campaigns by tags

Once you have applied tags to your sent or draft emails, you can filter your campaigns by tag/s to find exactly what you’re looking for.

To filter by a tag:

  • Click Any tags next to the search bar and select the tags you wish to filter by. You can make a search more specific by combining a tag filter with the search bar.

Using tags to compare campaign results

Tags are a useful tool to help you compare the results of sent campaigns. For example, you might wish to compare the email results for the past 6 months of VIP newsletters. To compare campaign results:

  1. Select Any tags and filter by one or multiple tags.

  2. Hover to the left of the campaign name and tick all relevant campaigns.

  3. Select Compare from the action menu.

Handy to know:

  • Work with your team to find a tagging system that works for your needs. Common tag categories include: campaign type (newsletter, welcome email, etc.), audience segment, month or year created, or the team member responsible for sending the campaign.

  • Ensure your team creates and applies tags in a consistent fashion in order to get the most value from your system.

  • We recommend reviewing and updating the tags of your more recent campaigns on a regular basis. So search for campaigns without tags by clicking on Any tags, then selecting All untagged campaigns. This is a great way to ensure your organisation system is up to date.
