This tutorial will walk you through: setting up an Appointment Reminder from 🏁 start to πŸ† finish using one of our pre-built global templates.

When to use this tutorial

If you're looking to replace Cliniko's plain email reminders, with beautiful and customisable branded emails that can have buttons, images, videos and more - this is right where you need to be. You also have more control around how and who they send to, giving you flexibility and a better patient experience!

What you'll need:

  1. πŸ’Œ Create a transactional email (Shortcut: Use one of pre-built templates!)

  2. πŸš€ Trigger it to the right people with an email trigger

  3. 🎁 Bonus: Recommended subject lines

Let's go!

Get started with a template

Peptalkr comes with a number of pre-built appointment templates πŸ₯° Save time by using one of our professional designed, fully customisable templates as a starting point.

Step One: Create a Transactional email

You'll go the email manager tab, then the Transactional tab to complete this step.

Now just follow the step-by-step instructions here to:

  • Create the email

  • Set a subject line

  • Set an email sender

  • Design the email (with a pre-built template if desired!)

Once you have created and pressed Finish on your Transactional email, it's time to connect a trigger.

🎁 Bonus: Subject line ideas

An effective email starts with a great subject line! Cut through the inbox overload with a subject line that grabs attention and makes the purpose clear.

FAQs

Will my Cliniko reminders automatically be disabled?

No, you must disable your Cliniko reminders around the time time you turn your Peptalkr reminders on. You can follow the steps here.

How can I see who has been sent a reminder?

You can use either:
1. An automated note added to the patient file (if enabled) - see here

2. By opening the delivery log in Peptalkr - see here

Can I send more than one reminder?

Yep! You can send as many as needed. Simply duplicate your trigger and adjust the timing to send another one at a different time before the appointment. It's best to also create a new email for the second reminder, as receiving double ups of emails - even if days apart - isn't as nice as getting a unique one.

Can I send a different reminder to new patients?

Yes, you can send a different reminder based on many things! To target new patients, simply set the trigger filter to target your initial appointment types, or you can even filter by appointment count. Set the count to exactly 0 as this email sends before their first appointment - meaning they have never attended an appointment before.
