If you are looking to include a PDF or other downloadable resource inside an email this guide explains how it is down.
Attachments can be added to all 3 types of Peptalkr emails as Links.
You can either hyperlink some text, or add a Button to your email template and set the destination of the button as your PDF/resource.
Links vs actual attachments
We require you to insert the file as a link, and not as a traditional' attachment' for several reasons relating to security:
Email attachments are often used as a way to hide viruses and malware. Because of this, emails with attachments are more likely to get caught in spam filters, which can affect your deliverability.
Large file sizes can result in bounces from email servers with low inbox or low message size limits.
Attachments can slow down your email from sending as the time required to send each email is significantly greater.
Using links is a far simpler, safer way to include files and resources in your emails.
How to place a file into a link
It's easy! Here's the steps:
Step One: Upload your PDF/file to either:
1 - Your Google Drive/Dropbox/other cloud storage
Make sure the file is accessible - Ensure you set the file to be publicly visible via link. For example, in Google Drive - click share and set General Access to 'Anyone with the link'
2 - Your website's media library
If you're not sure how to do this, click one of the links below:
Step Two: Copy the URL to your file
Now that you've uploaded it, grab the URL and copy it.
Step Three: Paste the URL into a button or hyperlink in your email
Now add a button or text to your email that want to link to the PDF/file.
Don't forget to send yourself a test of the email and test clicking the button/link to make sure it opens correctly π
Calendar attachments in Transactional Emails (.ics files)
We allow .ics file attachments (calendar invites) in Transactional emails if sending an appointment confirmation or reminder.
These files do not affect the email's deliverability, as we have ensured the file is correctly created. You have no control over the contents of the calendar invite file as it is automatically generated from the appointment details.
To enable the calendar invite, ensure you enable it during the Trigger creation process.
