πŸ‘‰ Buttons are a great way to drive action from your emails. They look better than hyperlinks and they can do some pretty cool stuff.

How buttons work

You can add a button to any email or template you create by choosing the button block in the email builder:

Drag and drop the button into your email, then click the button to open it's settings:

  1. Button text - enter the call to action for your button, such as book now.

  2. Button link - enter the web address your button should link to (or use one of the other options in the table below)

  3. Button design - select a button size, style, corner and alignment. You can also set a colour and fonts.

What you can put in buttons

A URL/web address

Link directly to any web address - whether it's a page on your website, a google maps link, a custom Cliniko booking link, a stripe payment link, a review link, a form/survey, a social media post or anything else on the internet. Include the https://

For example:

https://www.myclinic.com

You can also use valid Personalisation variables in buttons.

A phone number

Link the recipient directly to a phone call on their mobile device by adding tel: followed by the phone number you want the recipient to call.

For example:

tel:0212345678

Email address

Clicking it will open a new email compose window on the recipients phone/computer. Enter mailto: followed by the email address you want the recipient to contact.

For example:

A PDF/file

You can link to a PDF or file attachment - great for when you want a recipient to download something.

Buttons without links

If you've added a button but haven't linked it anywhere - you'll see a yellow outline around it, indicating this button won't actually display in your email to a real recipient until you add a link.

Buttons in your personalised templates

Each of the pre-built personalised templates we provide you with contain buttons, and you might be wondering how some of them work or what to place in them.
